Properly Funding Our NHS

Our NHS has been chronically underfunded, hiking waiting times to obscene levels, as if preparing a justification for even more privatisation. Enough is enough! With mounting repair costs not being met, The People's Movement will substantially increase the funding levels given to our NHS, before it's too late.

Fighting for Mental Health

One in four adults in the UK will need mental health treatment at some point in the calendar year. The underfunding of one of our most critical healthcare failsafes is simply unconsciousable. The People's Movement will ensure that mental health funding is a proportionate portion of physical healthcare funding. We will also directly target causes of mental health problems, such as the inherent stresses of capitalism.

Fair Pay for Nurses

As the famous saying goes, "nurses do twice the work of doctors for half the pay." It's ridiculous how much successive governments have undervalued nurses and the deep and comprehensive value they bring to healthcare in this country. The People's Movement will ensure nurses are more fairly compensated for their precious work.

Preparing for an Aging Population

As the UK gets older, there will be increased strains on our healthcare system. Not only will we work to make sure that such strains are comfortably managed, we will link up healthcare to the adult education sector, providing free courses in British Sign Language, as the need for such services grows.

Protecting Adult Social Care

Free at the Point of Use means exactly that - anything else is a direct attack on the ideals of the NHS. We will work to ensure that, even if legislation to cripple Adult Social Care is passed, that such nightmarish ideas can be reversed swiftly.

Protecting those who Protect the NHS

National Health Service staff often feel like they can't report injustices and misconduct that occur to them or the people they care for. The People's Movement will ensure a safe and anonymous website for NHS staff so they can make anonymous complaints and whistleblow.
