Democracy First

The People's Movement believes in the self-determination of all peoples - there is little value in a democracy which refuses to allow democracy. Therefore, we support devolving the power to make independence referenda to the relevant legislatures, excepting the north of Ireland due to the Good Friday Agreement.

Abolishing the Unelected

Working within the confines of capitalism has already created enough unelected rulers - people literally born into power. We will bring the Royal Family down to the same standards as the rest of us - private citizens - and will abolish the House of Lords, replacing it with a proportionally elected second chamber.

True Devolution

In order for local communities to not have their voices silenced, it is essential that they have the power to make the changes they want to within their community. To that end, we will devolve further powers, such as taxation policies, with the agreement of devolved institutions. We will also be supporting Justice Devolution to the Senedd, and are aghast at the tactics that have been used to delay a referendum on the matter.

Multi-Lingual Policy

Multilingualism accessibility must be considered whenever new legislation is drafted - Britain is a multilingual area and always has been. Policymaking should always be taken with multilingualism and accessibility in mind.
